I finally finished Sour Fruit and what a whirlwind. It was certainly a unique read but not particularly one I would recommend. I think the biggest mishap is that the blurb does not do the story justice, and in fact sets up expectations that simply were not met. The story picked up around 80% and then fizzled out. I think I need to sit on it for a bit but congrats to the author on her debut.

I’ve since started The Jasad Heir as I desperately wanted a fantasy read to cleanse the palette. I’m only a few chapters in but I am intrigued by the world set up and look forward to where the story goes. If you have any fantasy recommendations, our DMs are open!!
