I know I’ve been pretty MIA for the last month – had a lot going on and I wasn’t reading – but I am back! I finally got around to picking Orbital back up and finished that earlier this week (phew). I also continued reading (and finished) Goodlord: An Email by Ella Frears. I hate to say it but this was not the read for me. I was pulled in by the unique formatting of a story – broken up like an email. Unfortunately, I think that may be the only interesting aspect. The FMC is writing an email to her letting agent in response to being told she needs to create an account for a system (and that her rent may go up). In a (longwinded) email, the FMC ends up going on tangents that (in my opinion) would’ve been better to focus on the housing crisis or even some comedy. Instead, we get a lot of traumatic storytelling that the FMC kind of skirts past.

I did start a new read today, Ghost Chilli by Nikkitha Bakshani. Shortlisted for the New Adult Book Prize, I received a PR copy as one of the bookstagrammers sharing about the books and the prize! So far, I’m halfway through the first chapter but I am getting pulled into the FMC and what’s going on in her dating and work lives.
