In preparation for our latest podcast recording with a guest author (to be released next Wednesday!), I have been reading ‘A Line in the Sand’ by Miles Spencer and Wells Jones. The book takes a historical fiction twist on the real life events of the authors, who have journeyed across the Middle East in search of adventure and answers. A good chunk of the book takes place in Saudi Arabia, and having grown up there it was quite fun to read about someone else’s experience in the region! I also appreciated the long historical lens the book takes in its approach to delving into the complexities of Middle Eastern politics. The overall message of the book, that we are all more similar than we believe, is one that hits close to home for me.
